“It was everything I ever wanted.
As the lovers poured out of me with each stroke my body melted to the floor.
Suddenly my stomach dropped and the color of the distorted song pierced my heart.
I pulled my body back and intensely repainted until the moonlight hid from the sun.
Painted until the fog cleared and my head was quiet enough to beckon the whispers of my soul.
As the dream I buried bubbled up writhing to be heard.
It cracked the door open to my need.
I softened as need bellowed for a non-conformist kind of love.
As she begged for love in the chaos, for love to visit imperfection.
I leaned in, and I could feel the dream reaching for a place
where love could make a home.
A home built on being, not keeping.
I listened and painted a home for wholly love.”
